McNeeley takes his 5-0 record to Connecticut

"Hurricane" Peter McNeeley will put his 5-0 professional boxing record on the line on Thursday, April 23, at Foxwoods in Connecticut, against Rubin Cardona of Norwalk, CT. The card will be shown live on ESPN.

Medfield's heavyweight has won his previous five pro fights via knockout, but this is expected to be the closest yet.

"They're looking for me to go the route with this guy," McNeeley said. "He's never been knocked out. He weighs 205 pounds, is short and stocky and has a chin of granite. He's fought everybody who's anybody in New England."

The card features Tommy "The Duke" Morrison against Kimmuel Odom, as well as New Bedford's Ray Ray Olivera against Rickey Myers.

In his most recent bouts, McNeeley knocked out Phil Prince at 2:38 of the first round, and knocked out Jesus Rohena in 40 seconds at a Jimmy Fund benefit at the Westin Hotel in Boston.

Tickets for the April 23 card will be available at Signore's.
