JUNE 17 - "Hurricane" Peter McNeeley KO'd Joe Siciliano in the first round of a scheduled four-round heavyweight bout Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd at the National Guard armory in Leominster, MA.   Siciliano's first trip to the canvas less than 20 seconds into the fight was ruled a slip, but McNeeley officially knocked his outgunned foe down three times.   The first two were on left hooks to the jaw.   The third was with a crunching overhand right to the temple.   Referee Dick Flaherty reached the count of 10 at 2:57. McNeeley, who weighed in at a fit 227 pounds, improved to 47-5 with 36 KOs - 25 in the first round.   Siciliano, who weighed 266, dropped to 1-1.   Siciliano, a local favorite and the victor of several exhibition matches, is a 38-year-old narcotics detective for the Leominster Police Department. On the undercard, lightweight Lamar Murphy TKO'd Alonzo Sojourney in the first round of a scheduled eight rounder and Olympic Trials finalist Jacob Hudson KOed Danny Diaz in the first round of a four-round lightweight bout. Also:   Dan Sheehan defeated Marcel Alexander when Alexander failed to answer the bell for the second round, cruiserweights;   Dan Phippen KO2 Randy McGee, super middleweights;   Jose Angeles UD 4 Jose LaPorte, junior lightweights;   Dan Conway KO2 James Holley, heavyweights;   Elio Rodriguez Maj dec. 6 Mike Cribben, junior lightweights;   Willy Phillips TKO 1 Demitrius Lindell, heavyweights. |
